Methley put forward an athletics team for the Boston Spa championships on Thursday 6th November. The competition was held at Brigshaw High School and consisted of many different events including obstacle relays, hurdles, long jumps and javelin throwing.
It gives me great pleasure to report that every child gave 100% in their particular event and they all showed great team spirit. When the children were watching other team members racing they were also encouraging and congratulating them before, during and after every event!
Teachers (Mrs Reynard, Mrs Ashby & Miss Medd) and the parents that came to watch were just as vocal during events and I'm sure this helped to boost the children's performance!
As a result of a few weeks hard training and great performances on the day I'm proud to say that Methley ran away as clear winners of the overall championships!! They won by a clear margin of over 30 points against some other hard working and determined schools.
They have now progressed to compete in a cup competition at John Smeaton school and the event will be held on Friday November 14th at 3.30pm.

Girls - Kodi Gledhill, Olivia Scott, Georgia Scollan, Hannah Goury, Abbie Dadson, Ella Wilkinson, Francesca Fox, Natasha Brown, Bethan Parkin, Georgia Stanley.
